#1: The Confluence from 2600m

(visited by Rainer Mautz)

06-Apr-2024 -- We walked 3270 km from Zurich to Cape Vincent just to get a glimpse of this confluence point. This hike was part of our hike network. Unfortunately, we found this confluence 2.6 km off the coast in the Atlantic Ocean, which means that less than one per mill of the total distance is missing.

Cape St. Vincent is he southwesternmost point of Portugal and of mainland Europe. This is as close you can get to this confluence if you don’t organize a boat.

The lighthouse is among the most powerful in Europe. The coast at the cape is spectacular with vertical rock faces of 75m and mighty breaking of waves!

Our route and more pictures can be found here.
