04-Aug-2011 -- Before traveling to Sukhbaatar aimag I checked confluence point's visit information and understood about possibility of hunting the point in the Ongon soum, Sukhbaatar aimag (45N, 113E). Our tentative travel agenda was very suitable for hunting this point. We arrived in Dariganga soum in the evening, 3rd August and waiting for the next days work we visited some interesting places such as Ganga lake, Gangiin tsagaan ovoo, Orgikh spring and camp situated just in front of famous in Mongolia place "Altan ovoo". It was really beautiful place. We have enjoyed the surrounding nature and took pictures. On the 4th of August we did our work, had meeting with local administration representative, some visits etc. Then we climbed to the Altan Ovoi.

Altan ovoo is a small Mountain 1350 m above sea level, one of the State level Holy mountains of Mongolia with an official offering ceremony starting 1913 through Bogd khaan's decree (see picture).

Around midday, we finished our work and traveled to the East from Dariganga soum aiming to Sainshand (Dornogovi aimag). We came to Ongon soum, from where the targeted point was shown around 40 km south. We were concerned because the border with China is not so far to the south. We asked local travelersand learned that the border post is situated more than 50 km to the south from Soum centre.

Good dirt road led us almost to the point. Very beautiful place, good pasture. We realized that somebody came before us marking the point by putting some stones up. But we don't understand why they did not post its information. We found our point 2-3 m from that mark. We waited enough time and at the end decided to send this visit information. Sorry friends
