#1: Looking West from confluence

(visited by Grahame Cooke)

21-Apr-2015 -- With having been called out to work early in the morning, I didn't have to be back at work again until after a 10-hour break, so decided to go for a couple of trig stations that, while they are reasonably 'close' (as the crow flies), take a considerable time to drive to. So I visited Tipperary trig @0935, and then was on my way to Banks Rocks trig, going past Mograni Lookout which overlooks this confluence. This is the point that I originally took an interest in the "Confluence Project" but in those days I was too timid to approach the property owner.

Having had the practice in approaching property owners for accessing trig stations, I was more prepared to go down Mograni Road, and stopped at #142, which seemed a likely place for an owner. And, sure enough Keith owns the rural property opposite with the confluence, and he has had several people come and ask for permission to go and take some photos. Very amenable.

About 400 m around the confluence is rolling grassland, with the occasional fence. After the recent HEAVY rains there was water flowing in every dip and gully.

To the South is the Mograni cliffs (which are also owned by Keith). The Mograni Lookout is to the 'North'. Took several photos, looking in different directions. Then went and successfully found Banks Rocks trig.
