(visited by Ross Finlayson)

02-Mar-2019 -- From the coastal town of Eden, New South Wales, I spent several hours driving westward through the 'Snowy Mountains' (of course, completely free of snow at this time of year). I got to experience some interesting wildlife, including sighting two ‘brumbies’ (feral horses), and several road-killed wombats (where I got to notice the unusual genitalia of male wombats). After through the small settlement of Tooma, I turned onto Welaregang Road. At 35.99658°S 147.98119°E, 1.7 km WNW of the point - just as Welaregang Road changed from gravel to paved - I parked and started hiking across dry farmland. It was a hot summer day, with temperatures in the mid 30s °C.

After crossing a small, thinly wooded hill, the open dry farmland resumed. The Degree Confluence Point is located on a rather nondescript slope. During two of the three previous visits (in November and December), the grass was green. Today, it was very brown (similar to Stephan Theriault’s February visit). Unlike these previous visits, there were no cattle on the farm during my visit.
