15-Aug-2004 -- From 15°S 132°E we returned to Broome via Victoria River Downs. The homestead looks like a small town. After saying goodbye to my father in Broome, I headed south to my next CP 22°S 115°E. This was the fifth CP of my trip.
22°S 115°E is on Minderoo station so I gave them a phone call to explain the reason for my visit. I spoke to Suzie and she said to call at the station before heading into the scrub. At the station I was told the UHF channel to call if I got into any trouble and away I went.
I crossed the Ashburton River and continued down the old highway until the CP was 2.74km to the west. I left the car at 1200 and arrived at the CP at 1240. There were two quite new fences that had to be crossed and I also saw a kangaroo on the way. After taking the photos at the CP, I walked back to the car, arriving there at 1330 after another successful confluence hunt.
