05-Jun-2006 -- After an initial attempt at 21S 119E the first day, it was decided to make an early start this morning and attempt this confluence instead.

With many kilometers of rough dirt roads coupled with multiple water crossings, we finally arrived within 900 meters of the location.

Together with my partner Lee Pfennig and friends Mike and Tash Halasz, we set off on the final assualt. Lee and Tash lead the way on foot as we pushed on behind them with our vehicles, edging inch by inch closer to the point.

In the end we had to abandon our plans of driving all the way, foiled by a rather steep sided, dry water course. We then made our way on foot across spinnifex covered, rocky ground for the last 300 plus meters to the final destination.

Finally after 2 days and close to 800km travelled we had made our conquest. A simple ceremonial stacking of rocks on the location marked the completion of this journey, this then brought back to my mind a desire to conquer the one we had left behind the day prior. But that is for another day, for now we are content with the victory of today.

I would also like to make special mention of others who travelled with us but could not make the final trek to the confluence, Andy and Kate with their children Wilson and Nancy and last but not least Ella, daughter of Mike and Tash. Thanks to you all for your participation and support for this trek and new freindships formed.
