22-Aug-2001 -- Thanks to technology and aircraft, our school at Narrogin has been able to claim our 1st Confluence Point. As part of the Aviation program at Narrogin Senior High School, we have located the CP by air, noted access routes, nearest roads and tracks allowing us to plan and then visited the point by land. The day was perfect for a walk across three farms to this isolated point. The three farm owners were only too happy to allow us access to photograph this point which was located in the middle of a very new wheat crop on top of a hill (1194 feet above sea level)with vista views in all directions.
What a sense of achievement we had knowing we were the first to get to this point. We congratulate those who have visited our other two planned points during July especially the two ladies who visited 118E 32S.
This project has been an excellent task for our year 10 aviation students and has given them a goal to aim for which has helped them in their navigation studies. We did raise the NSHS school banner over the confluence point.
