29-Nov-2002 -- When I found out I would be going to Antarctica the first thing I naturally thought of were confluence points. When I left for Antarctica in October 2002 there were NO points done with the exception of the South Pole. My aim became to fix that. This was the first point that I visited during what would be a 750-kilometer long road trip, which was part of a scientific expedition in Western Antarctica. While the caravan of snowmobiles, scientific equipment, and the rest of our party were stopped adjusting loads Shad O'Neel and I zipped off about 2 kilometers to visit this point. More can be read about our expedition at the Confluence.org page for 82S 131W, and more about the whole project can be read at www.greschke.com/passcal/antarctica/index.htm.
