13-Feb-2016 -- This is the sixth out of seven reports on confluence visits during our road trip across the USA. The story starts at 39°N 77°W and continues from 30°N 90°W.
After having a brunch with friends in Houston, we detoured to this confluence on our way to Dallas. We left I-45 at Madisonville and reached the property at Honeysuckle Road within 10 minutes while staying on county roads.
Actually, the confluence is located right at the fence of two properties. From Joseph’s visit we learned that the exact location might be 1.5 meters into the property on the right hand side, i.e. on the east side. This is where we parked our car - only 120 m short of the confluence. Nobody was present but the ladies next door to the right told us, that they owned this plot as well. I explained my mission and they gave us permission to proceed to the imaginary point after I had explained that the point is only 100 meters into their property and that this translates into 110 yards.
A bunch of little dogs accompanied us when we left the car. We crossed a pasture that usually sees cows and horses, but at the time of our visit the animals seemed to be on the far side of the plot. The exact location was indeed next to the fence, I measured 3 m from it.
After the visit, we continued our drive to Dallas, were we had crawfish in a casual restaurant.
