10-Dec-2010 -- In November/December 2010 my crew and me did an Atlantic crossing by a sailing boat Bavaria 44 named "Bluebear".

The journey started in Las Palmas, Gran Canary, and went to the Caribbean with the target St. Lucia.

On this journey we sailed about 2.000 nm just on 14°N latitude and passed not less than 31 longitudes! Everyone of them we passed at not more than 2 nm distance. Representative for all of them I'll present the most accurately reached point! Also the weather was really fine at this point.

Unfortunately, the trip was marked during the first eight days by many lulls and weak hoists, followed by three days with strong wind from the West, later on with many days with so-called squalls, big rain clouds with storm or strong wind under them. Only last week the weather was pleasant again, but even of short duration. The last three days before Saint Lucia were drawn again by backbreaking weak hoists...
