12-Jun-2001 -- This confluence is located in a residential area near Birds Hill Park just northeast of Winnipeg. This is primarily a grassland area near the Red River (which runs from the US north to Lake Winnipeg) which is approximately 2.8km to the west. I was able to drive to roughly 100m east of the confluence.

A friendly gentleman in his backyard who was tending a large garlic and onion bed invited me to walk around and pinpoint the confluence at my leisure. I understood from talking to him that another group had been to the confluence just 2 days previous and they were kind enough to stake the confluence for him. He was not sure why we were appearing in his backyard so I left a copy of the letter to landowner with him.

The first picture is a view to the west, the second a view to the north, the third to the south and the fourth a view to the east. The final picture shows my Etrex and while it does not indicate a specific location by coordinate, it does show that I was .38M from the confluence which I had programmed in previously. This was my first visit to a confluence and accordingly this is my first submission as well.
