29-Dec-2005 -- A group of 3 families in 3 vehicles left Luanda/Angola to pass Christmas in Swakopmund/Namibia. On the return to Angola, when passing the border post of Ruacana, they decided to mark the confluence point 17S 14E.

The confluence point is located relatively close to the railway that links the border post of Ruacana to Cahama, in the province of Cunene. With the help of the GPS we arrived close to the confluence point, which was exactly 1 km aside the railway that we had followed along for 80 km since the border. We drove away from the railway with our cars for about 300 m, where we met some natives, and made the remaining 700 m on foot. According to information from the residents, the area has the name of "Tapela".

It was 13:09 when we found the confluence point. The confluence point 17S 14E is located close to a tree near the margin of a dry river. The access to this point was quite easy, without any degree of difficulty. The group was composed of 5 adults, 2 children, and 3 adolescents.
