11-Jan-2009 -- This confluence was captured travelling along the famous route RN40 from Rio Gallegos to Rio Turbio, as part of our recent long trip to the Argentinean Patagonia.

I had the suspect that it should not be too much work to capture it, because just in that point RN40 gets very close to parallel 52, which matches the border between Argentina and Chile in this zone, so when I got close to the confluence I looked for the closest point to leave the route perpendicularly and try to reach it, driving cross-country for 4.5 km.

We did it without trouble, except for some surface irregularities that forced us to go slowly and choosing the best place to follow toward CP.

To reach the exact point we had to jump over the wire fence that marks the border between Argentina and Chile, because the confluence is about 15 m inside Chile.

Once we took the photos, we returned to RN40 by the same track to continue with our trip.
