#1: Overview

(visited by Karl Bryk and Michael Bryk)

13-Aug-2017 -- This is visit number 2 in a sequence of 2 visits made during a weekend trip to Poland.

The previous is 50N 19E.

Having spent a very pleasant and interesting day visiting and catching up with relatives on my father's side near the city of Nysa, it was time to head back to Vienna, a trip of about 350 km. We decided to visit 49N 17E, south of Brünn. It would take a bit longer but would be about the same distance back to Vienna.

We blindly followed the navi and 2 km from the CP we were travelling on very rural roads when we were directed up a rough road, up hill, towards the CP. Only a few minutes to go!! Unfortunately the road became increasingly rough and pot holed and fearing damage to the suspension we had to turn around and take a circuitous route to the CP. Arriving at about 8 p.m., we parked by the Russian monument and climbed up on to the level of the field. The moment of truth - crop or no crop?

No crop!!

So we straight lined to the CP, took the usual photos and were back at the car a few minutes later. By this time the sun had finally set and we set off in the dark to Vienna where we arrived without problems just after 10 p.m.

We had had an interesting weekend visiting relatives and I had blagged a new country, and even better for Michael: he had blagged 2 new countries.
