(visited by Thomas Barthel)

06-Feb-2015 -- The confluence point 49N 14E is located about 1200 meters to the south of the city center of Prachatice, inside the area of Lázně svaté Markéty, a former therapeutic bath.

By coming from Germany, across Hartmanice and Vimperk I reached Prachatice and the southern part of the city at the road 141. I parked the car 270 m away from the confluence and walked the last metres in the direction Lázně svaté Markéty. An information board at the last crossing before reaching the CP offered details of the nearer location and usage in former times. Soon I reached the exact CP by leaving the way and going about four metres into the forest.

After doing the pictures of the area and the GPS display I walked further uphill, heading south-west. On a crossing I saw an old chapel. The little bell tower of this ruin lays in front of it, behind the fence. On the way back I realized an old overgrown bath which was maybe a moor mud bath, as it has been written on the information board below. On my way back to the car I did a picture of the nice view to Prachatice.

So my third visit of a confluence point in the Czech Republic was done and it was a nice extra during this winter holidays!
