08-Jun-2003 -- This confluence point is situated on Kalymnos island in the greek dodecanese. On a sailing trip in spring 2003 we decided to visit this point which has not been described yet. We were a crew of five sailors, who started the trip on June 6th on the island Kos.

After an overnight stay in Ormos Vathy, a beautiful, fjord-like shaped bay on Kalymnos, we reached Ormos Pezonia in the north-east of Kalymnos by sea where we dropped anchor. Because of the predominant northern winds this bay is unsuitable for overnight stays. The confluence point is about 600 m far from the beach, 130 m above sea level. After passing over to the shore by dinghy we started the ascent through a dried up river-bed which was covered with rubble and macchia. The air was saturated with the smell of thyme, sage, and oregano. Our ascent was hindered by the nets of large spiders (large means 2 cm without legs which is a very large spider for people from central Europe). After 50 minutes (and some devious routes) we reached the destination of our expedition. On a rock not far away from the confluence point we found the mark that has been made during an undocumented visit of the crew of the SY ESYS in 2001.

On our way back to the sailing boat we followed a goat trail on the left side of the river-bed which was much more convenient than the path we took on the ascent.
