06-Jul-2002 -- This narrative is continued from 31N84W.

7:00am - We left our first confluence of the day and headed west, to the corner of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, which also happens to be 31 north, 85 west.

First person to come here said they had walked up to a cow pasture and saw the property owner, asked permission, and drove right up to the confluence. How this person managed to drive right up to the confluence in a motor home is still a mystery to us.

We got to the cow pasture fence, and didn't see any signs of life. The closest house was a few miles down the road, and since the last person had no problem getting permissions, and since it was still close to 9:00 am on a Saturday morning, we decided to make a quick trek to the confluence and back, once again as discretely as possible. The cows, however, had no sense of the word 'discrete'.

Once we started walking towards the cows, they 'moo-ed', and practically stampeded in the opposite direction. The moo-ing was incessant. There must have been atleast 50 cows.

Avoiding the massive amount of 'poot', we tromped down a hill, past a pond, across a muddy creek, up a ridge, and onwards to the confluence. Still don't know how the first visitor drove up to it.

The confluence itself is in the middle of a dry brushy field.

2-for-2, we bid the cows farewell and headed northbound for confluence number three of the day.
