12-Mar-2007 -- It was my intention to visit the last two South African confluence points 32S 25E near Cradock and 25S 20E near Union's End with one go.
The first one 32S 25E is situated south of the R61 between Cradock and Bethesda Road in the Eastern Cape. The gate to the private game reserve where the confluence point is situated was unfortunately locked. Fortunately Johan van Rensburg, the friendly and very helpful owner from the neighboring farm Spitskop put me in touch with Louis Marais, the owner of the private game reserve Karoo Safaris. After a nice cup of coffee I left Spitskop for Louis's farm Agtersneeuberg roughly 8 kilometers down the R61 towards Cradock.
Louis and his wife Walene were quite interested when I told them about the confluence point on their farm. After another nice cup of coffee, Louis and I left in search of the 32S 25E confluence point. We were lucky and managed to get within 460 meters from the point by vehicle. After a short walk Louis managed to pin point the Confluence with all zeros on the GPS.
