21-Feb-2021 -- On the 5th of December 2020 I flew to Namibia for a bicycle trip. On the 24th of December I met Elionora in South Africa. After a 12-day vacation, we decided not to return to Zurich, but rather stay in Cape Town and work from our laptops. After spending almost two months in Camps Bay (10 km south of Cape Town), we decided to relocate to get familiar with another area.
So this weekend we put all our staff into our car and went eastwards along the coast. The night from Saturday to Sunday we spent in the remote Rooiberg Lodge. On confluence day, we had a long drive along tiny gravel roads until we reached R328 and approached the confluence coming from the north via Ruitersbos Nature Reserve and Bonnievale.
A gravel road took us up to a distance of 1050 m to the confluence point. From there, we found a pleasant track – actually very good for hiking – and reached the confluence further down in an open pasture with grass and tiny shrubs.
We returned the same way back to our vehicle and continued driving until we reached our destination Knysna, where we are now going to spent the next days. Knysna is a famous tourist destination due to its warmwater lagoon.
