#1: Looking North

(visited by Uwe Bertele, Brigitte Rennhard, Bernd Landau and Karsten Becker)

18-Nov-2007 -- Continued from 25N 28E.

On our way back from Jabal al-`Uwaynāt and Gilf Kabīr to al-Dākhila we took the route a little more south than when we came via Abū Ballāṣ. We were that much more south that we were just below the 24th degree latitude. Although we were a little behind our plan, this confluence point was too close to be left out.

Our tour guide Bernd agreed and so the group split. We drove with Bernd and Karsten to the confluence point and the rest of the group went straight on in direction al-Dākhila. The sand is here so flat, that one can enjoy speeding like on a German highway :-).
