(visited by Allan Mitchell and Allan)

16-Jun-2014 -- I visited this confluence the day after a walk with two friends from Darwin from the Fergusson River bridge to the Heritage Listed Fergusson River Overland Telegraph Line pylons about 10 km NE upstream. These pylons were listed because of their historic interest, built in 1899 to raise the telegraph lines above the flooding river. We overnighted there by the side of the river.

The following morning, I was unable to convince them to saviour the pleasure of completing a confluence, so headed off alone, whilst they returned the 10 km to the car to wait for me.

It took me longer than expected, experiencing some issues with the GPS (and the person reading it). After about 3 hours walk through mostly undulating open country, I arrived at the location, roughly NW from the start point.

Being the Dry Season, it was an enormous difference from the previous visit logged in our Wet Season in January 2005. The grass had been recently burnt off which made walking fairly easy, but quite dirty.

After spending some time at the confluence, it was backpack on and head to my waiting friends at the car. They had almost given up on me and were about to report me overdue to the police.
