20-Jan-2008 -- After a two-hour drive from our home in Harare, we were able to navigate to within 4 km of the Confluence, travelling on some terrible dirt roads in heavy rain. Having been stopped by a flooded river, we, my son and I, were forced to continue on our bicycles for the remaining distance.
Following a line straight to the Confluence took us through newly ploughed corn fields and dense patches of bushland, passing an overflowing farm dam, and brought us to the spot, in the middle of a field, in thick red mud. This effort cost us 40 min or so and we were at risk of running out of daylight, so we took our photographic evidence and headed back to the car. What an awesome day!
