(visited by Brian Roberts and Renate Roberts)

27-Apr-2007 -- We were planning to visit the Etosha National Park for the weekend and noticed that we would pass close to this Confluence, so decided to pay it a visit. The day before we had phoned the owner of the farm, Mr Jakob, to request his permission to visit this site. He gave us permission quite happily as he was aware of this Confluence, having had previous visitors, one with his permission and one without - he is still unhappy about this and calls it "trespassing".

We found the turn-off to the farm on the C33 between Omaruru and Kalkfeld. After several kilometers on a gravel road we reached the gate to the farm "Otjeriwanga" (which means "the place I like to stay"), where farm workers were busy repairing the fence. When we reached the house, a very friendly and typical Namibian-German farmer Kurti Jakob and his wife Bianca were there to greet us. After chatting a while he took us into his workshop and gave us the key to the gates and explained to us how to reach the Confluence.

We returned the way we had come and at the main gate found another gate which lead us south along the boundary fence for several kilometers, then west towards the Confluence. It was very easy to find and when we had taken our photographs, we returned to the farmhouse to thank farmer Jakob and his wife and to return the keys. The sweet oranges mentioned by the previous visitor were unfortunately not yet ripe...
