08-Jul-2007 -- I finally found the time to visit this Confluence which had been on my plans for a while. The Confluence was not far from where I live at one of Botswana's largest mines. I took the opportunity to introduce my father, who is also a "GPS-phile" to the pastime of confluence hunting. One Sunday morning we decided that the 80-km trip may be a pleasant outing.

Getting to within 6 km of the Confluence is relatively easy as there is a graded dirt road beside a veterinary fence from the tar. I managed to find the tracks of the previous visitors and followed them across the dusty grassland to avoid too many vehicle tracks across the pristine bush.

Crossing the dry Boteti river bed, we had a short winding path to the confluence site where we enjoyed a beer in the shade of an acacia tree while watching a herd of cattle heading for a waterhole in the river bed.

After a peaceful time listening to the birds and sounds of the African bush we returned home.
