10-Oct-2015 --This confluence is one of the three that we visited on a trip between Resende (Rio de Janeiro) and Ribeirão Preto (Sao Paulo), on the occasion of the holiday of 12 October, day of Nossa Senhora Aparecida (Patron Saint of the Brazil).

We left Resende very early and after a few hours, circulating along the BR459 route, arrived at the vicinity of Pouso Alegre, an important city in the South of Minas Gerais.

Within walking distance of the entrance to Pouso Alegre opens to the right the MG179 route which links this city with Alfenas. After a few kilometers we took the path to Espirito Santo do Dourado, a very small town immersed in a mountainous environment.

Crossing the entire city we crossed a small bridge over a creek, and at this point the paved road ended. Two dirt roads opened, we took the one on the left, some hundred meters forward in a new fork tacked to the right, and then it was just following the winding road (in perfect condition) that was going up and down several hills.

After some kilometres, we reached the closest point to the confluence, where an access road to the estates of the place opens to the right. Only 2 minutes later we were just 30 metres from the confluence, we left the car and passing a mountain dog, it was not difficult to put in zero GPS.

Having accomplished the mission, we decided to move forward by the dirt road and take the BR459 route at the height of the city of Congonhal, this would save several kilometers on our trip. On the one hand it was a good decision since the road continued gaining height, opening up every now and then to the upholstered horizon of hills and valleys of various shades of green, but on the other hand the road not remained in such good condition, being partly difficult for a simple traction vehicle (although perhaps not having taken correctly some of the many forks that were appearing...).

Finally after an hour of adventure we reached Congonhal and continued the journey to our final destination.
