#1: The Confluence from 20 m distance

(visited by Rainer Mautz and Elionora)

04-Jan-2018 -- This is the 10th out of 11 reports reaching confluence points during our two-week trip through southern Brazil and eastern Paraguay. The story starts at 23°S 46°W and continues from 27°S 57°W. The itinerary and additional pictures can be found here.

In the evening we reached our third confluence point this day. For fun, we used 3 navigation devices at the same time. Can you imagine how funny it is when 3 devices talk? From the main road towards Encarnación, we turned into an asphalted road towards La Paz and followed it 20 km. Since the farmland is divided into squares, we turned right-angled following 7 km and after another right-angled turn for 1.5 km. Then we stood 150 m from this confluence. There is a farmhouse nearby where we got permission to do a little hike in the vicinity.

In contrast to the previous visit, we found the confluence on a meadow with very short grass like a lawn. A cattle fence is just 6 m away.

Before nightfall we reached Encarnación and had a great time in the evening at the busy beach of river Paraná where the Paraguayans spent their vacation.
