04-Aug-2009 -- Since many years I wished to visit this close offshore confluence in Southern Uruguay, but always when I was close by there was something against me.
This morning, at 08:30, coming from Venezuela and bound for Montevideo, finally I had a good opportunity to visit this point.
The Confluence is located near Maldonado/Punta del Este, a famous tourist resort in Uruguay.
The views to NW and North show the coastline of Uruguay, whilst Punta del Este can be seen rather well in typical winterly morning fog.
Looking to ESE we can see Isla de Lobos with its prominent lighthouse.
A five hours later we arrived at Montevideo, where we will now discharge our coal for the next four to five days.
