#1: mount Sarmiento

(visited by Jeroen van Kempen and Rogier Leeflang)

30-Mar-2003 -- A bit arrogant, but probably the nicest confluence anybody has ever visited.

We where sailing Magellan’s channel, in the south of Chile and we arrived at this confluence at dawn. To the south mount Sarmiento (pic #1). It was beautiful weather, something that it rare in this part of the world. To the west Cabo Froward. Probably one of the worst places on the earth weather wise. But not when we where there. The same day we sailed to Punta Arenas, where our Chilean experience ended. A beautiful country.
