#1: Confluence point

(visited by John Dag Hutchison)

27-Mar-2016 -- With a GPS in the car confluence point hunting is not that challenging. I drove about 60 km northwards from Hua Hin and found the place easily. The coastal area was all flat and was marked by the drought which seems to have stuck large parts of the country.

The people living there remembered the earlier visitors. I gave them a print out of the visits, and a young woman seemed to know enough English to be able to spell her way through the texts. She was not willing to speak English though. She has access to internet and is looking forward to seeing this report, she said. In Thai.

A sugar palm was planted about 1 meter from where my GPS read 0 meters. Sugar from the sugar palms was an important source of income for the family. They gave me a glass of the very sweet juice. And then a glass of water to rinse it down. They also had four - five cows, but the drought made it very difficult to find enough food for the animals.
