#1: The visitors on a view towards west

(visited by Joachim Jacobs)

14-Feb-2007 -- Dr. El-Nadi (University of Kharṭūm) and myself visited this point during joint geological fieldwork between the University of Kharṭūm and the University of Bergen (Norway).

The mountains in the distance consist of greenish-brown, coarse grained syenite (post-tectonic, c. 530 Ma), that is currently mined for road building material by a Chinese road building company. A new asphalt road is currently being built, connecting Hayyā and `Aṭbara a few kilometres to the N of this locality.

Coordinator's Note: This visit is registered as "incomplete" because the submitted photos do not fulfill the DCP Photo Requirements.
