05-Mar-2005 -- Since weeks we had discussed and planned the trip to the eastern part of the Rub` al-Khāliy. Today it was my turn to take over the leadership heading for confluence 22N 53E.
It was already short after lunch when we took off from confluence 22N 52E. Due to good sand conditions and dune formations we could "eat" the kilometres in between the both points. Finally we were able to reach the targeted Confluence shortly after sunset, this is the reason why the pictures of the area were taken the next morning.
For me, and I think also for Frank and Andy, the whole trip was one of the most impressive ones we did up to now in the Rub` al-Khāliy. Especially the southeastern area is worth to see. Let's see, perhaps we will be able to discover some more in this region.
