14-Nov-2004 -- We set off from Masqaṭ on the first day of `Īdu-l-fiṭr, one Land Rover Discovery and two Toyota Land Cruisers, having travelled from Dubayy, UAE, the day before. The confluence point was approximately 50 km from the main Ṣalāla road, and we were surprised as to how easy it was to access.

The general area is comprised of small hilly gravel. There is a Bedouin camp nearby and the area is criss-crossed with many tracks.

Around 5 km away are some interesting rock structures large enough to give shade for our lunch stop.
