(visited by Shawn Fleming)

31-Oct-2016 -- I was enroute to San Antonio for work and decided to make a short detour to visit this confluence. I had aborted 31N 105W earlier in the day so there was still daylight for this visit.

I parked 700 meters east of the point along Texas 349 and began a hike across relatively flat terrain. I crossed two buried pipelines along the way and collected lots of stickers in my socks.

Energy may be the primary theme of this confluence. Besides the two pipelines there was evidence of extensive oil activity on my way in from the Interstate. There were also large powerlines and wind turbines that dominated the southern horizons and lines of large wind turbines to the west and north.

The pictures show the relatively flat scrub and low terrain features in all directions.

Post processing of the GPS data (437 positions) reveals that my Trimble GPS receiver was 2.508 meters east of the actual confluence with a Horizontal Precision of 2.2 meters.

This was a quick 76-mile adventure off Interstate 10 that took almost exactly 2 hours. When I rejoined the Interstate at Ozona, I was 58 miles closer to my destination!
