26-Sep-2003 -- This was the second confluence point on the Morocco trip. I did not plan to visit this one. But after having visited the confluence point 32N 5W at Amellago, it turned out that the dirt road to the south was destroyed after a rainfall. So there was only the choice to return to Tinerhir, or to go northeast on a paved road in direction Rich and then to al-Rachidia. After spending the night in al-Rachidia and being only about 30 km away from a confluence point that itself is only a couple of kilometres off the main road leading to the eastern parts of Morocco, the decision was quickly taken.
The trip started right after breakfast. The way to go was pretty straightforward. The difficulty was to find a dirt road getting me from the paved road as close as possible to the confluence point. Trying to get to the confluence point on the shortest way from the paved road turned out impossible, since there were many "dry micro canyons" to be crossed. But after a while I found a dirt road that lead as close as 400 m to the point. This last leg was not difficult to drive in the car. Just before 10 a.m. the confluence point was reached.
After leaving the car, something strange happened: Nothing. There were no screaming and bothering children around asking for pens, candies or money. Just a couple of dromedaries far away. It was a new experience in Morocco.
