15-May-2024 -- This is the last out of 7 reports visiting confluence points during a one-week bicycle trip from Budapest to Podgorica. The story starts from 47°N 19°E and continues from 43°N 18°E.
On confluence day, I started cycling in Bileca in Bosnia. I crossed the border into Montenegro and reached Nikšić (Montenegros second largest city after the capital Podgorica) before noon. On the road, I had met Antony, a cyclist from Kraków. Antony had the same route as me so we cycled together over a mountain pass (1450m) into the town Šavnik.
At the turnoff to the confluence (13 km from the CP), I left Antony who didn’t bother to visit a confluence point. However, the asphalted road towards the confluence was fantastic: the road follows a steep canyon with spectacular views. The road crosses the village Duži and shortly after reaches a minimal distance of 550m. I was able to ride my bicycle across the meadow and parked it at a distance of 100 m at a hut probably used for storing hay. A had a short and pleasant walk. The confluence itself is at the top end of the meadow just 3 m into a bush.
After my visit, I had to hurry a bit, because my flight was departing from Podgorica the next day. I had to ascent the mountain pass again. Two flat tyres that had to be fixed delayed me such that I had to spent the night in Mokro Savnik. But with an extremely early start the next day, I made it right in time to the airport.
