15-Oct-2012 -- The opportunity to visit 45N 110E arose through a brief follow-up technical review of progress on a highway intended to complete the link between Choir and Sainshand. The route is expected to be completed by late 2013, linking Sainshand with Ulaanbaatar by sealed road for the first time.
This confluence point is particularly easy to visit, but only if approached from Sainshand. Turn left just before the railway, and very soon there is a single established track taking you within a km of the confluence point. I placed a single small rock there. If traveling from the north, there is a shorter route from the new highway, but you will need to pass through a river bed under the (low) railway bridge, and take care to avoid random rock hazards near the railway embankment. To reach that bridge, leave the main highway just before the white arch across the road, then follow the track south-west to the bridge. After that there is no established route, through you will cross several tracks.
