03-Nov-2007 -- The secondary confluence point N49 E110 is located in the north of the same Onon river that we had to cross to reach confluence point N49 E111. We started driving to the confluence point early morning of Saturday 3 November from our cousin’s winter camp. We drove through Batshireet soum and near the reference point Hashingiin Dugan (or Hashin temple - which had long disappeared) crossed the river by a bridge. After the bridge we had taken the road that leads to border troop unit, passing by 5-6 families one the way. Since all families in the north of river are member of association for helping border patrolling, every time we get closer to a house someone went out and watched us until we passed. We didn’t know if the confluence point was before or very close to the border unit and if it was near or behind the border troop unit we had no chance but drive back. Luckily the confluence point was located almost on the top of mountain side at 1354 meters ASL. Our cousin told us that the unit was behind the hills and not that far away. We had to leave the car about 200 meters down the hillside and quickly climbed up to the point because we didn’t want border troops coming and asking too many questions.
