21-Jul-2004 -- Bonjour!

Salut
-Guy

21-Jul-2004 -- Hi!

From Montréal,on sunday 18 july 2004, just to see a little of what the north of my country look , bringing my gps i didn't know at this moment if i gonna do a "confluence".

At Matagami, on the gate, i buy a government map of the province and see 2 really easy points near the road : 54N 72W and the 52N 78W (may be also a third: 53N 78W) i try also the 53N 77W but it was too far and risky with the low level of organisation i have. Surely it will be far easier to do these by the winter with a ski doo knowing that is no very much depressions, cliffs, etc.

So from Montreal it takes 1300km north then near 580km east on a gravel road the "transtaiga" to reach 54N 72W.

On km286 of the transtaiga i wait 2 hours on the morning of the 21 to have gas, it was too early on the morning they opened at 9 . Price of the liter : $1.20 far from the expensive (for us) $0.84 in Montreal today on the 26 of july.

There is another gaz station at km358 of transtaiga and they really friendly and smiley peoples there.(also:$1.08/liter)

From the closest i can with my car, it tooks 3 try to be on the place of the picture , my way was always cut by water. Its a chain of littles lakes and a river. Here its close of Laforge-1 dam.

I didn't take the "cardinals" shots because i was not exactly on the point.

So ... Voilà!

It was just a first try.

Salut!
Beaucoup the plaisir!
-Guy
