#1: View to the West

(visited by Svetlana Egorova, Dmitry Ponomarev, Konstantin Nikashov, Natalia Nikashova, Mark Granik and Henry Balter)

17-Jul-2004 -- Our team visited 2 locations in Russia, so when we arrived to British Columbia we knew we would definately visit some confluence point there.

We had 3 GPS devices with us, the confluence point was supposed to be close to Alaska (Hyder). The closer we got the more excited we were, but... the place appeared to be high in the mountains, no way to get there by feet. (may be some people would risk, but since we met many bears with babys, so no one wanted to try their luck climbing up the mountains).

The visit to the confluence point was usuccessful, but the trip itself was marvellous: absolutely beautiful surroundings, green mountains covered with snow, clear mountain rivers full of fish and friendly sunny weather made it unforgettable.
