05-Aug-2015 --
This is the third in a sequence of 3 visits made while on holiday in Sweden, in Hjelleskata, south
of Säffle, near Vänern lake.
The previous is N60 E13.
I had already visited this CP, but
last time, because I panicked about getting the camera wet, I forgot to photograph the N/E/S/W
directions. I was determined not to forget this time.
I would do this CP visit with captain Michael, who was also my captain the last time we visited the
CP. We left our visit until the late afternoon because the wind conditions were forecast to be
most favourable and as it turned out they were just perfect - not too strong, not to weak.
But first be had to put on our sailing gear and put the sails on the catamaran. This was done
down in the harbour, after which we set off. Last time it was not so certain we would easily get
out the harbour area but this time it was straight forward - the wind was such that we could easily
sail out.
So we sailed towards the CP, about 5.5 km from the harbour, tacking as necessary - see the attached
track of our route. I took approximately an hour to get to the CP where this time I took the
necessary photos. In fact after drifting away from the CP, we went round again and took a second set
of pictures just in case.
After the CP visit we had a pleasant trip back to the harbour, arriving there 2 hours after we had
set off. N59 E13 was finally in the bag and I suspect I might visit this one again just for fun !!
