14-Aug-2024 -- This is the 1st of 2 CP visits made during a 8 week trip to Denmark and Sweden.
The next is N59 E18.
After a few weeks cycling and hiking my way across Denmark and Sweden I was finally close enough to N59 E17 to visit
the CP. I had been thinking of cycling the last few kilometres to the CP which was good because at a distance of
5.3km from the CP a bridge I needed to cross was closed to traffic, not by a barrier of any kind but by a sign.
I did notice that locals (presumably locals) were still driving over the bridge.
I loaded my bike pannier with the necessary equipment - 3 photography devices (2 mobile phones and 1
camera - I was taking no chances) and attached my GPS device to the handlebars. Leaving about 12:45, I got to within
60m from the CP 25 minutes later. There is a 'path' made by recent tree felling activity that lead almost to the
CP - I only had to walk about 3m into the bushes to reach the CP.
The usual photos were taken and I returned to the bike and cycled back to the car. I did think about doing a short
walk into the Naturreservat I had passed on the way but the walking trails were fenced off so I gave up in that
idea. I arrived back at the car at 14:15 so the whole visit had taken a leisurely one and a half hours.
