04-Oct-2003 -- The weather was typical fall weather: somewhat windy and occasional showers with heavy clouds. This confluence is approximately 2 km from the nice village of Bromarv that has a small pier for leisure boats to visit. The place is in a bay connected by a few inlets to the Finnish Gulf
My parents-in-law have a summer cottage approximately 7 km from the confluence and I used to sail on these sheltered waters when we had a 18-foot sailing boat. This time I visited the location with outboard motor boat as I just had taken our current sailing boat to be lifted for winter.
There were few people at sea, only someone fishing. I approached the confluence from north, the wind was some 7 m/s from south. Keeping my eye on the GPS, I navigated along 23rd longitude until I passed 60th latitude. Then I turned off the engine and used the oars to hold the boat approximately on the confluence. There was some problems because I managed to use too much force and broke one of rowlocks.
I then
needed to use the engine to hold the boat against the wind, thus not all photos are taken exactly on the point but all are from within 100 meters.
