(visited by Geir Aake Dahlen)

08-Aug-2004 -- This point is located in a steep slope of a mountain in a mountainous area in Troms. I drove by car from Narvik, a nearby smaller city. The first part of the distance I followed the main road E6, and then the local main road 84, and a local road the last kilometres to the small farm Sandvika. I was alone on this trip. From here I had to hike four kilometres up a small, partly forested valley, Synnerdalen. There is a small and quite new forest road the first kilometer, but after that I had only vague tracks to follow on the valley floor.

The terrain is mostly easy for hiking, but the last kilometer I had to go upwards 300 vertical metres to the confluence point. The lush vegetation up the hill was quite different and much more difficult to pass, I additionally almost climbed some parts. After a two hours hike I arrived at the confluence point. Only once I could make the gps show the exact position, but most of the time it showed that I was 10 metres or less from the point during my one hour stay.

If the point were 100 metres more to the east it would be necessary with climbing gear to reach it. The fog covered the nearby mountains but the view from the confluence point was still good, at least to the west. The grass was wet after several showers during the day.
