#1: View to NNE

(visited by Captain Peter)

13-May-2006 -- A few hours later it is time for the second Panamanian confluence, namely 7N 81W. This Confluence is closer to land than 7N 80W, about 26 km, and looking towards NNE we see a small rocky islet west of Punta Mariato. To Northeast there is the Panamanian coast with Punta Mariato.

Although built in 2002, thus quite a new ship, the "UBC Singapore" is rather simply equipped. What is required by international regulation and what is useful, is installed on the bridge. Any additional confusing technical and electronic fancywork has been avoided by her owner.

This fact makes this ship fairly sympathetic to me. I can do comfortable confluencing with her, everything what I do need is available and easy to handle, and that is essential.
