  29°N 82°W (visit #4)

#1: The point is located inside the American-Pro RV center

(visited by Terje Mathisen)

24-Apr-2005 -- The third visit in a single day, and eight confluence during a US trip that started with 46°N 123°W.

I had started in the morning with 29°N 81°W, then gone south to 28°N 81°W before driving the NW diagonal to this confluence.

As noted by the previous visitors, reaching this point is very easy, in fact it is passed by thousands every day since both lanes of Hwy 27 passes within less than 100 m. Matt Cavagnaro who visited in 2002 noted that the lot was for sale, well now it has been developed: It contains 'American - Pro RV', an RV outlet.

Since the exact spot is contained within the parking lot, it is possible to park on top of it, getting all zeroes, as long as the gates to the lot are open.

This visit allowed me a new personal best: With my sister's new Garmin 76C gps, flat terrain, 11 visible satellites and WAAS differential correction, the stated position uncertainty was just 6 feet, i.e. less than 2 m. :-)

The next day I would go on to 28°N 82°W, the final and ninth confluence during nine days in the US.
