28-Jun-2005 -- We followed everybody else’s path to the confluence and cut across the golf course. We parked in a dirt lot next to the road leading to the Cabrillo College Stroke Center. Here we crossed the road to the fairway, and found the trail leading toward the confluence in the ravine across the fairway.
After entering the woods, we took a smaller trail on the right side of the main trail that lead us much closer to the point where we could zero out the GPS. Once the GPS told up we were close (picture #4), we knew we had arrived at one of the most visited confluence we knew of.
This is an infrared picture taken toward the Northeast. Looking down the trail toward the Northwest, and back up the trail toward the Southeast. My co-pilot lining up his approach shot from the rough at the confluence.
After leaving the confluence, we drove around in the park, and think we have found another way to get to the confluence. This shows the way, from Branciforte Drive, park at the sports complex, and head up the trail on the south side of the lot just as you enter. This trail should take you up to the confluence, and you don’t need to be watching out for golfers taking pot shots at you as you cross the fairway.
