#1: From the point, looking east.

(visited by David Wood, Tamara Wood, Stan Friesen and Pat Friesen)

11-Jul-2005 -- After a meeting in Accra the previous week, we wanted to make the most of our 800 km return trip to Nalerigu. On the way back, we decided to visit as many of the confluence points as time would allow. After having visited 7N 2W and 9N 1W successfully, this point was the third and final point on our list.

We left Tamale around 9 a.m. heading East for Yendi. It was a very good road and didn't take us long at all. We bought breakfast there (boiled guinea eggs with pepper) and headed south on a dirt road for 9N 0. We came to a small village with a tiny path heading in the general direction of the point. The truck was capable of getting us to within a kilometer of the point.

Grabbing the camera, GPS and water bottles, we headed out. Since it is rainy season, the grass was waist-high in most places and we were all thinking of the snakes which might be lurking underfoot!

We also walked through corn, manioc, peanut and yam fields to get to our destination. Right in the middle of a planted field we located the point. Unfortunately, we didn't see the farmer to tell him of the importance of that location!
