04-Nov-2005 -- What are five foreign experts and one baby doing in Jordan in order to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramaḍān? Yes right, they are planning to discover their next confluence point. Since only two more points were left in Jordan, we decided to discover 30N 37E which is located in the desert at around 10 km distance from the Sa`udi border.

In order to reach our point of desire within first attempt, we took every little detail into consideration. Torben organized the satellite images, Joerg and me digitalized the track and transferred it to the GPS, and Donovan and Marina took care for the condition of the cars. Not to forget 20-months old Damian who was in charge of keeping us happy all the time.

We calculated two days to reach the point. The first day we tried to get as close as possible to the point in order to stay overnight somewhere in the desert and to continue our trip the next day and return back home to `Ammān on the same day. In contrary to the discovery of 31N 37E we did not face any problems. The first day we came as close as 10 kilometres to the point where we set up our camp. After an amazing sunset, a huge barbecue, and some beers, we went to bed quite early in order to be prepared for the next day.

As soon as the sun arose we continue our trip and reached the point around 8:30 a.m. After a small celebration we headed home by taking a different track. After around a 100 km drive through the Jordanian desert, we reached the highway without any puncture and on time. After a huge sand storm on the desert highway we reached the rainy `Ammān happy and tired. Mission accomplished. To be continued...
