18-Apr-2006 -- I flew in yesterday from Houston where my family & I had spent our Easter break visiting my wife's sister and her family, we made two confluence trips during that week, first to (29°N 96°W and 29°N 95°W and then to 30°N 96°W).

Today I had planned a full day of confluence visits, so starting from Gilroy I drove east, passing within a few miles of 37°N 121°W which I've visited previously.

I passed I5 shortly after and kept going east to HWY 99 and Madera.

As noted by previous visitors, the actual point is located in the (long) driveway of a farmhouse, I asked permission of the people living at the entrance to the driveway, and was told that it would be OK.

My Quest GPS with the old Garmin GPS engine had good differential coverage, using two WAAS satellites, while the GPSMAP 76CSx with the SirfSTAR III chip has some problems due to the recent move of WAAS sat # 35: It never found out that sat #47 is much better, since it can provide both corrections and ranging data at the same time.

After getting the photos, I jumped back into the car and drove due south towards the next point: 36°N 120°W
