#1: Overview of the confluence from the corner of rice fields

(visited by Shigeru Shimizu)

07-Aug-2006 -- After 4 days brief vacation in Myoko highland, I decided to visit this confluence. It was only 20Km away as the crow flies from my hotel, but was 70Km by car because it was opposite side of famous mountain named Mt. Myoko and Mt. Hiuchi.

After one hour driving, I parked the car at the corner of some rice fields. It was only 100 meters from the target. I start my attack at the opposite corner of the field.

A heave dense of Japanese pampas grass, bamboo grass and vine interrupted me to advance. It took 10 minutes for 50 meters. After I crossed a stream, I climbed up to the opposite side and reached the target at last. It was realy in the JUNGLE. When I returned the car, a lot of scratches are on my arms.

It is hot summer season in Japan and is not good season to visit many confluences in Japan, because most of them are in heave undergrowth. They will die in winter and it will be easy to walk around.
